Welcome to the new website for the Milton Keynes Primary Care Trust (PCT).

Have Your Say in Future of Local NHS Community Services Form

The future form of Milton Keynes Community Health Services is currently under consideration. The Department of Health has given PCTs until the end of March to decide what should happen to their provider divisions, with the changes expected to have been made, or substantially progressed by April 2011.

In Milton Keynes, the PCT is made up of NHS Milton Keynes, which buys local NHS services, and Milton Keynes Community Health Services which provides NHS community and mental health services.

There are six leading options currently being considered. The public can comment on all the options. To find out more click here.

Swine Flu Advice

If you think you have swine flu symptoms please telephone your GP practice. Please do not go to your GP practice if you think you have swine flu symptoms. If you are assessed as likely to have swine flu, you will be given a voucher for antiviral medication.  more info...

YOU WILL BE ADVISED WHERE TO SEND YOUR FLU FRIEND IF YOU ARE GIVEN A VOUCHER FOR ANTIVIRALS

It will be one of three community pharmacies who are assisting with antiviral dispensing. Out of hours, your Flu Friend can collect antivirals from the Urgent Care Centre on the Hospital Campus.

If you are symptomatic, please DO NOT go to the collection point yourself. Please stay at home and recover.

Your Flu Friend will need idenfication both for themselves and for you. They will not be able to collect your antivirals without it. Please note that antivirals will not be provided without a URN. Antivirals will not be provided 'over the counter.'

Checklist:

1. Identification for yourself
2. Identification for your Flu Friend
3. Unique Reference Number (URN)

Your Flu Friend WILL NOT be given the antiviral medication unless all three items above are provided.

‘Listening’ - by NHS Milton Keynes

NHS Milton Keynes wants to listen to the public face to face.

In response to the enthusiasm and feedback from the Patient Participation Group (PPG) launch event, earlier this year, NHS Milton Keynes is ‘opening its doors’ to simply listen to the stories, advice, concerns and questions from anyone who can join us.

By attending one of the events, people will be able to have their say, on whatever is most important to them and their health.

The sessions will be held at NHS Milton Keynes Headquarters, Sherwood Drive, Bletchley, on the following dates and times:

• Friday 12 March, 10.00am-11.30am
• Friday 12 March, 2.30pm-4.00pm
• Tuesday 16 March, 6.00pm-7.30pm

NHS Milton Keynes guarantees that its members of staff will listen more than they speak. Each session will include large and small group discussions, and the notes and outcomes will be shared with all those attending, and then through the LINk:MK network.

Gillian Prager, Director of Clinical Standards and Engagement, said “NHS Milton Keynes provides as much opportunity as possible for the people of Milton Keynes to have their say and share their health related experiences with us. These events enable us to capture patient experience and supports the future developments of local health care services”.

If you are unable to attend one of the above mentioned sessions, NHS Milton Keynes is committed to giving you the opportunity to have your say and will listen to your views. Contact us using:-
• the website www.miltonkeynes.nhs.uk.

NHS Milton Keynes purchases local NHS services and is the organisation responsible for ensuring NHS services in the Borough are delivered to a high quality.

Improving Our Premises' Environments

NHS Milton Keynes owns/leases and manages many properties across Milton Keynes and we are aware that the standard of premises is not uniform. Numerous and various services are delivered to our patients in these premises.

We are interested to know what our staff and patients opinions are of the premises where they receive our services and we hope that you will take the time to complete our questionnaire. The results of this survey will be published on our website.

Thank you for your time.
